Epoxy Floor Coatings in Dallas Fort Worth
Epoxy is the base of most of our floor systems. We top it with a polyaspartic coat so it keeps its color in the sun and stands up to oil, fuel and cleaners.
What an Epoxy Floor Is
Epoxy is a two-part coating, a resin and a hardener. Mixed together they cure into a hard layer that bonds to the concrete. On a properly ground slab it bonds well, builds good thickness and takes vehicles, foot traffic and spills.
Why We Do Not Stop at Epoxy
Plain epoxy can yellow in sunlight and scuff over time. So every Blackhawk flake and metallic system finishes with a polyaspartic topcoat that is UV-stable and chemical-resistant. You get the bond and build of epoxy with a tougher, clearer top layer. The longer version is on our polyurea vs epoxy page.

Epoxy Floors Questions
Is an epoxy floor the same as a garage floor coating?
Epoxy is one layer of it. Our garage systems are an epoxy base, a flake broadcast and a polyaspartic topcoat, built over a diamond-ground slab.
Does epoxy turn yellow?
Plain epoxy can yellow when it gets sun. That is why every flake and metallic system we install is topped with a UV-stable polyaspartic coat.
How long before I can use the floor?
Light foot traffic after 24 hours and vehicles after 48. Most projects are finished in a single day.
